Boiler Room announces first venture into China

The market for electronic music in China is considered by many to be a large and mainly untapped resource. In an effort to be among the first to make a run at the Chinese market, live-streaming series Boiler Room, in conjunction with Chinese festival dART, has announced two upcoming events to be held in Beijing and Shanghai.

Beijing will be the first show, held April 30, with performances from Paul Woolford and Chinese artists Kai Luen and Shao. Shanghai follows on May 1, featuring ELVIS.T, Black Coffee, and ChaCha, a vocalist from Shanghai. International viewers will be able to stream these performances like any other at Boiler Room’s site. However, since YouTube is banned in China, the company has reached an agreement with LeTV to stream the event to Chinese viewers.
