The Chainsmokers – Don’t Let Me Down (Ephwurd Remix)
The Chainsmokers are in the midst of crossing over from EDM favorites to burgeoning talents of the crossover dance space. With their new approach to production, favoring vocal-driven downtempo cuts over in-your-face electro, the pair have tapped into a huge market new market and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The change was perhaps most evident on recent single “Don’t Let Me Down,” which has already amassed 30 million plays on YouTube. To bring the track back to more raucous dancefloors, however, The Chainsmokers have enlisted bass house duo Ephwurd for a club spin on the single. The new version finds Daya’s vocals transposed down, giving the song an entirely new feel. Though relatively docile for the first minute or so, the song takes an abrupt turn one-third of the way through as Ephwurd unleash a cacophony of frenetic synthesis. It’s a sharp change of pace from the original, but a worthy remix nonetheless.
