Two Coachella security guards stabbed in Sunday morning brawl
On Sunday, April 24, Coachella security guards broke out into a fight as the grounds prepared to open. The initial investigation has revealed that the conflict took place around 10:25am between members of two separate groups who were both employed by the same festival security company.
One of the parties involved was wielding a pocket knife, resulting in two guards getting stabbed. While one of the victims was released from the hospital shortly after the event, sustaining primarily head and face injuries, the other was stabbed in the abdomen and is currently stable but under observation.
Sgt. Dan Marshall of the Indio Police Department later made a statement that the fight took place “completely back-of-house,” meaning that at no point during the altercation were Coachella fans put at risk.
