Coachella will expand in 2017, adding a new stage to its collection

Coachella’s growth has been nothing short of astronomical. The festival extended its stay in Indio to two weekends in 2012, both of which sell out expeditiously each year. Goldenvoice has now announced even further growth for the affair less than a week after wrapping up its second 2016 weekend.

An environmental impact report submitted by organizers to Indio reveals an extra stage in store for Coachella 2017. The grounds’ plans in the report indicate the stage’s size to be roughly the same as the outdoor stage. A new stage can only point to an even bigger lineup, leading fans to wonder who will be featured next year and if ticket prices will be affected as a result of such an ambitious expansion. The report also includes plans for Coachella’s country relative Stagecoach, who will also see an extra stage added next year.

Photos below show the new stages both appearing around the terrace area where the Yuma tent is situated. The full report and accompanying maps can be viewed here.
