DA Premiere: Boxia re-works Alan Fitzpatrick’s ‘1992’ from Fabric 87
Famed London club Fabric has become an international pillar for electronic music. Outside of its world-class events, the venue has become known for its mix compilation series which began in 2001. Alan Fitzpatrick was recruited for the 87th edition of the series, with the Drumcode stalwart showcasing some finely curated, powerful techno on his takeover.
Fitzpatrick has also debuted several new tracks within fabric 87, many of which are exclusive to the compilation. One such example is fellow Drumcode affiliate Boxia’s re-work of Fitzpatrick’s 2014 single, “1992.” The clip carries on the thumping stylistic motifs typically employed by the Brit, including the kind of cloudy distortion and percussion that naturally enacts an entranced state.
Alan Fitzpatrick will be hitting the US for a four-stop stint in May, kicking off in Seattle on May 19 and ending in Washington DC.
