Dancing Astronaut presents Axis episode 167: Mixed by Prince Fox
The Internet is a beautiful for place for aspiring musicians right now. By simply uploading covers and remixes of listeners’ favorite songs in innovative ways, artists can gain exposure and see their career reach new heights. Prince Foxes may be the perfect example, having done just that in the last year and a half and recently inking a deal with Republic Records as a result. The NYC-based ‘future pop’ peddler originally drew inspiration from future bass pioneers like Flume and craftily infused his own take on the genre with radio-ready vocals to create a refreshing balance of both future genres and commercial moods.
With a debut EP out and a headlining tour under his belt, Prince Fox is on his grind with a bevy of new material on the way. Now he’s stepped up for his debut AXIS Mix with a number of unreleased remixes and live edits. The hour-long frenzy is almost entirely comprised of Prince Fox’s secret arsenal of crowd-pleasing edits with vocals from pop icons like T Pain, Fall Out Boy, Ciiara, Missy Elliott, and more intertwined with boundary-pushing future favorites like Mura Masa, Rusty, Hermitude, and Louis the Child. Prince Fox even makes this mix extra special by previewing his forthcoming remix of AlunaGeorge’s “I”m In Control” and a few other IDs.
