Jack Ü and Justin Bieber’s ‘Where Are Ü Now’ has gone triple platinum
Jack Ü‘s inaugural release recently celebrated its first birthday, and a lot has happened in that time. Skrillex and Diplo worked with a well-rounded group of talent on their initial joint release, but nothing on their first LP came even close to the inescapable ubiquity of the Justin Bieber-assisted “Where Are Ü Now.” Few saw it coming. It galvanized a new chapter in Bieber’s career, and secured Skrillex and Diplo both Grammy Awards and AMAs, soundtracking the year dance and pop got closer than ever.
Now, the canonized collaboration has reached its latest benchmark as the RIAA has certified “Where Are Ü Now” a triple-platinum hit. The track has moved over three million units since its release. Bieber is touring in support of his Purpose album and Jack Ü already has wheels turning on their next release, but with a triple-platinum plaque for each of their walls, maybe “Where Are Ü Now” isn’t the last we’ve seen of Bieber, Skrillex, and Diplo all together.
