Just weeks away from the release of his debut LP Cloud Nine, Kygo satiates the anticipation by unveiling new original singles that demonstrate his pivot away from dance music’s tropical house subgenre to the mainstream wave of commercial pop.
For his January performance at Barclays Center in New York, the Norwegian DJ and producer teased his new original ballad, “I’m in Love.” The single receives a full stream in an upload to Kygo’s SoundCloud, showcasing his musical versatility in a collaboration with James Vincent McMorrow.
“I’m in Love” is a gorgeous serenade comprised of a minimal melody and powerful vocals that hum about a strong push-and-pull relationship between two lovers. Amid Martin Garrix collaboration rumors and the launch of his new SiriusXM radio show, Kygo prepares for the official drop of Cloud Nine out on May 13.
