Watch LCD Soundsystem cover Prince’s ‘Controversy’ at Coachella
Prince has been lauded as one of the most influential artists of all time, having released countless chart-topping albums and singles over the years. His untimely death at the age of 57 cast a heavy feeling of grief across the globe as millions gathered to mourn his loss and reminisce on his prolific career.
Multiple musicians have already weaved memorial performances for him within their concerts, including several artists on Friday’s Coachella bill. One such example was the recently reunited LCD Soundsystem, who chose to incorporate the pioneer’s 1981 hit “Controversy” into their set on the main stage of Weekend 2. A full video of Prince’s iconic cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” was played out on the screens prior to the band taking the stage. LCD Soundsystem also honored David Bowie during Weekend 1, who also passed away earlier this year.
