Avicii cancels his final Vegas performances

It was only in late March when Avicii shocked the electronic music world by announcing he was retiring from touring. During a two-week road trip across U.S., the Swedish superstar had a cathartic moment that inspired him to make such a drastic change in his career and lifestyle. He received considerable messages of support from around the electronic community, while fans responded in turn by creating an intense demand for tickets to his final shows. Demand will only increase now, as Avicii has suddenly cancelled his last remaining shows in Las Vegas, set to begin May 14.

The six shows split between XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club were, as confirmed by both establishments, cancelled for “personal reasons.” Avicii’s representatives also confirmed the news to Billboard, adding that none of his other tour dates were to be affected.

While both clubs have yet to fill their entire slate left bare by Avicii, they have taken to Instagram to announce that Dillon Francis would be Avicii’s replacement at XS May 14, with Marshmello filling in at Encore on May 15.
