Founders Entertainment looking to launch new Queens festival, The Meadows
Founders Entertainment, the production company behind Governors Ball, is in the midst of planning a new festival set to take place in Queens this fall.
Despite last year’s rejection of its “Festival Q” proposal, Founders Entertainment has set its eyes on prime real estate about one mile north of Corona Park. The Meadows, as the new event will be called, is projected to occur October 1-2, and will take place in Citi Field’s parking lot – also home to EDC NY – if approved. Taking after its Governors Ball predecessor, The Meadows would also play host to numerous genres as the newest hybrid festival on the block.
Kerri Lyon confirmed the news to DNA Info: “We are in the early stages of exploring ways to create a dynamic, local music festival in the heart of Queens this fall. We hope to have more to say in the coming weeks.”
