JOYRYDE’s proclivity for chunky bass cuts that avoid genre confines has allowed him to remain one of dance music’s most intriguing and successful newcomers. Earning support across the spectrum, from Axwell Λ Ingrosso to DJ Snake, his career has since culminated into a notable collaboration with Rick Ross and the launch of his own apparel line as his reach continues to expand internationally.

Ironically titled “The Box,” his latest single starts off on a catchy electro route filled with roaring synths and intriguing percussion before melting into a powerful trap drop that somehow fits nicely into the rest of the song’s structure while making it evident that it cannot be “boxed” into a single category. A slow reintroduction builds suspense as a similar rollercoaster experience begins to take effect, aided by processed vocal samples that boost the track’s overall atmosphere.
