Krewella – Broken Record (Original Mix)

After ending their hiatus in April with the release of their collaboration with Diskord “Beggars,” the revamped duo of Krewella haven’t slowed down. Through an emotional video posted to the group’s Facebook page, the sisters Yasmine and Jahan announced their upcoming Ammunition EPNow the group have released yet another new track, “Broken Record.”

In keeping with the new style introduced with “Beggars,” Krewella trades in the rollicking bass sound they rode to success for a more mournful, subdued sound. It wouldn’t be Krewella if the sisters didn’t sing on the track and, as always, they make good use of their vocal abilities. The verse is melancholic and restrained, though they do let fly during the build up. They repurpose their vocals during the drop, chopping and transforming their samples into almost unrecognizable leads over a continuous subbass and the chugging electric guitars that are quickly becoming a staple of the new Krewella sound.

Krewella has also announced a new Sweatbox tour. Dates can be found here.
