A-Trak – Parallel Lines feat. Phantogram

A-Trak took to Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 radio show to debut his new track featuring Phantogram. Entitled “Parallel Lines” the track successfully finds the right combination of energy, optimistic vibe, and pop sensibilities that should make for a huge summer hit.

A giant piano and guitar chords kick off the collaboration, before Phantogram’s layered vocals enter and languidly sing the hook. After successfully planting the the catchy lyrics into the listener’s head, she changes her delivery to soar over the buildup. A-Trak’s drop is a slinky affair, with melodic sampled guitar line sliding along above a rumbling bass and subtle, but clever, drum work. The track then transitions back to Phantogram’s contributions, whose infectiousness will lead to “Parallel Lines” being played throughout the encroaching season.
