Wendy Carlos, Giorgio Morodor, and Vangelis save the world with synths in new Adult Swim special

Giorgio Moroder, Wendy Carlos, and Vangelis are parodied into super heroes for Adult Swim’s newest special. Live at the Necropolis: Lords of Synth is set in a 1970s arena, where parody versions of the three synth pioneers are battling each other for the title of “Synth Lord.” Renamed Morgio Zorodor, Xangelix, and Carla Wendos, their ultimate goal of evoking the best dance out of Halley’s comet backfires when the dissonance between the three competitors draws the celestial body closer to earth.

Luckily, the three discover that together they can save the world by combining their synth powers to become demigods in an explosion of well-executed, 1970s-style visual effects. Their collaborative jam is so catchy that it summons a Pegasus while turning Halley’s comet into an innocuous second moon.
