Anna Lunoe and Alison Wonderland become first solo women to play EDC main stage
EDC Las Vegas’ 20th anniversary officially came to a close this morning after three days of festivities but not without making history.
Amidst three days of electrifying sets, celebrity guest appearances, and new music left and right, Anna Lunoe became the first solo female act to ever play the festival’s Main Stage on Saturday. However, she wasn’t the only solo female artist to take the Main Stage this weekend as fellow Australian colleague, Alison Wonderland, also played the Kinetic Field one day later on Sunday.
Back in 2014, Krewella made history by taking the Kinetic Field as the first female group to play EDC Las Vegas’ main stage. Now, Anna Lunoe and Alison Wonderland’s solo performances help further the cause of closing dance music’s gender gap.
This is the first year EDC LV has had women on the main stage. I feel honoured and also a massive responsibility to represent what’s right
