Martin Garrix releases new videogame-inspired single ‘Oops’

Martin Garrix’s latest creation has arrived. Rather than a larger-than-life label single dripping in commercial production, it’s a light-hearted 8-bit composition titled “Oops” with surprising affability. Selected as the official theme for YouTube’s ‘Live at E3′ broadcast — the official stream of Los Angeles’ annual gaming convention — it’s a vibrant ode to the gaming community.

“I am so honored to team up with E3 and YouTube to play a part in celebrating the future of the video game industry,” Garrix said.

Outside of its 8-bit melodic progression, “Oops” features quirky vocal chops and a fully-laden progressive house drop. Brimming with countermelodies and melodic frills, it’s a satisfying construction, packaged neatly into a 4-minute arrangement. Frankly, though created with E3 in mind, the track is ultimately more alluring than much of Garrix’s typical stadium fare.

“Oops” is out now on Martin Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS, and is available for free download here.
