Myon & Shane 54 announce indefinite hiatus

Hungarian stalwarts Myon & Shane 54 have taken to their various social media pages to announce that they are putting their collaboration on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

The duo have been an active force in the trance and progressive house world since 2008, well-known for their contributions to imprints like Black Hole Records, Anjunabeats, and Ultra, as well as their stellar mashups and iconic “Summer of Love” remixes. The pair’s last original, “Round We Go,” arrived in January.

The group’s hiatus does not appear to be anything less than amicable. The producers cited a career spanning nearly a decade together and desire to pursue own creative interests. In that vein, the posting on Facebook and the group’s website have been updated to direct fans to each member’s solo projects. Fans will be mollified, however, by the group’s insistence that this hiatus is strictly temporary — though conspicuously open-ended — stating in their post that, “The book isn’t closed on MS54.”

Myon & Shane 54’s full announcement is available below.

“To our loyal fans and supporters, after almost a decade of Myon and Shane 54 working as a team, we’ve decided to take some time to explore our own individual paths. The book isn’t closed on MS54. This is just a new chapter. We hope to count on your continued love and encouragement for our adventures ahead.”
