Listen to the latest Essential Mix featuring The Chemical Brothers and Jackmaster b2b Armand Van Helden
Parklife descended on Manchester for its seventh iteration on June 11-12 with well-rounded lineup of talent. Plenty of legendary veterans were also included in the roster – specifically, Armand Van Helden and Jackmaster, who performed a special b2b, as well as the The Chemical Brothers, who took over Parklife’s main stage.
Pete Tong has thus dedicated his latest Essential Mix to both of these monumental sets. Hour one commences with The Chemical Brothers, who haven’t appeared on Essential Mix in roughly 21 years. The two packed their set with a slate of timeless hits, opening with “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted” from their latest album, while nodding to other works across the years such as 2007’s “Do It Again” and “It Doesn’t Matter.”
Meanwhile, Armand Van Helden and Jackmaster comprised the second half of the Essential Mix, taking their audience back to house music’s roots with ’90s beats and disco-inspired cuts that ooze vintage appeal.
