Skrillex to open for Guns N’ Roses reunion tour
At long last, Gun N Roses have finally announced openers for dates from their huge Not In This Lifetime reunion tour. Though many of the names are what you’d expect from the legendary metal heads–Alice in Chains, Lenny Kravitz, the Cult–one name in particular is taking fans by surprise.

According to the announcement tweeted from the band’s official page, Skrillex will be opening for the band at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas for their show on August 5th. Though this seems to be the only confirmed date the DJ will appear with the group, it’s certainly a milestone in the “DJs are the new rockstars” debate.
The generally hyperactive producer has been outdoing himself of late: teasing new collaborations with M.I.A. and Rick Ross, spending studio time with Bruno Mars, and touring virtually nonstop. His appearance at the Texas GN’R show will fall between residency dates at Las Vegas’ Encore XS and a headlining set at Creamfields in the UK.
