If there is a mecca in hardstyle, then it goes by the name of Defqon.1. This past weekend, 60,000 fans gathered in the Netherlands to celebrate the Dutch edition of the festival. On the Saturday of the event, Defqon.1 put on one of their world famous endshows, and by all accounts thus far, fans are agreeing that it may have been the craziest one yet.
For those unaware, the endshow at Defqon.1 — and similar events — is something of a sacred tradition in the hardstyle community, offering an pre-orchestrated production of gargantuan scale. For this year’s event, Q-dance (the brains behind the operation), took the show to an entirely new level. With a bevy of fireworks, synced up lasers, pyrotechnics, symphonic interludes, dragon dancers, and 60,000 hardstyle fans, it’s likely the craziest show production we’ve seen to date. Whether you’re a fan of hardstyle or not, the entire endshow is worth watching from start to finish for its jaw-dropping, cinematic appeal alone.
