Social media is currently ablaze with rumors of a potential Swedish House Mafia reunion in 2017. It all started early Tuesday when YouTube curator Proximity shared a photo with the caption “Hello Swedish House Mafia. 2017.” Despite the lack of any substantive evidence, it was enough to send fans and some media outlets into a frenzy.

Proximity went on to clarify the photo: “What I can say is that I have spoke to a few people in the music industry that Swedish House Mafia is indeed coming back in 2017 for a tour that is already confirmed,” before adding “Disclaimer: But what I heard about the tour was not said or confirmed by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello or their team.”

As no official parties have confirmed the reunion, the news remains but a rumor.

Now, adding to the lack of concrete evidence, Axwell Λ Ingrosso’s team have provided an official statement on the matter, denying the claim:

“At this point we’re not planning on reuniting and we have really no further comments on what the future for SHM looks like.” – Axwell Λ Ingrosso

Swedish House Mafia’s final gig took place in March off 2013 at Ultra Music Festival. When news of an actual reunion surfaces, you’ll be the first to know.
