Diplo confirms a star-studded crew of collaborators on Major Lazer’s new album

Diplo recently sat down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, dishing on a slew of projects that the Mad Decent label head has in the works. The pair discussed “Cold Water” and Diplo’s desire to provide a high-tide summer hit to the masses after Drake and Rihanna’s record kickstarted the year in pop music. Inevitably the conversation transitioned into Major Lazer‘s impending fourth studio album, Music Is The Weapon, and according to Diplo, the tracklist features a stacked lineup of heavy-hitters.

On the forthcoming follow-up to last year’s Peace Is The Mission, Diplo confirms contributions from Travi$ Scott, Usher, Sia, and even more work from . Wes also discusses the album’s revolving-door tracklist, mentioning that Beyoncé helped herself to choice pieces originally intended for Music Is The Weapon, to feature on her ubiquitous Lemonade. Additionally, The Weeknd claimed similar rights to another Major Lazer production for his incoming studio project.

As of late, Diplo is working on 40 different records, and that’s likely an understatement. But Wes claims that Major Lazer is currently his sole priority, meaning that fans can expect another single from Music Is The Weapon in August, and the record in full likely by January 2017.
