Goldroom announces debut album, ‘West of the West’

Josh Legg has achieved success for his balmy, melodic productions under the Goldroom moniker. After much anticipation, Legg has announced that his first studio album, West of the West, will be released on September 23 via Downtown Records. Inspired by Theodore Roosevelt, Legg derives his debut album’s titled from Roosevelt’s reference to California as the “West of the West.”

“I’ve wanted to center Goldroom around honest songwriting, and in late 2015 things poured out in a way they just hadn’t before,” Legg commented on the album. “Classic American songwriting is something I’ve tried hard to honor and push forward. Although I make electronic-based music, I think of this as Americana at its emotional core. I was aching to write something more simple and earnest, devoid of cynicism.”

In support of West of the West’s launch, Goldroom will be joined by Autograf for a co-headlining North American tour, spanning more than 30 dates this fall.
