AND.ID – Rooms (Lee Van Dowski Remix)
When John Digweed signs a track onto his label, it normally indicates a high level of musical prowess in the artist. Veteran Swiss producer Lee Van Dowski exemplified this notion in 2015 with a titillating techno release “Ici Et Maintenant,” which proved a hit among electronic connoisseurs. Two more of his works which appeared in Digweed’s Live In Montreal mix album were also released earlier this year.
Van Dowski makes a return to Bedrock with a remix of AND.ID’s “Rooms.” While he staunchly maintains most of the original’s cornerstone elements, he adopts an ethereal approach for his interpretation, trading in heavy kicks for lighter, multi-layered percussion. The re-work’s development is also more subtle, fostering a celestial atmosphere that counteracts the cunning energy given off by AND.ID’s initial composition.
