Phantoms – Call My Name feat. Skylar Astin (Dillon Francis Remix)
Since the start of his career, Dillon Francis hasn’t really ever had a “slow” period. Diligently avoiding the curse of dormancy, Dillon is constantly putting forth new material — be it in the form of singles, remixes, EPs, or his perpetual Snapchat comedy series. Even considering his consistently high output, Dillon Francis is in the midst of a particularly prolific period. In just the two months following the release of “Need You,” Francis has proffered a slew of remixes and played out forthcoming collaborations with Bro Safari and Alesso.
For his newest output, Dillon has remixed “Call My Name,” a radio friendly progressive house track from LA-based duo Phantoms. Francis’ releases from the last two weeks — his GTA collaboration”Candy” and his 808-laden remix of Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For” — indicate that he is in a very trap-inspired mood of late. For his spin on “Call My Name,” Francis keeps Skylar Astin’s vocals intact, and builds slightly upon Phantoms’ melodic pads before erupting into an elephantine drop that is strikingly similar to that of “Arrows,” his collaboration on What So Not’s Gemini EP. Equal parts melodic and maniacal, this remix will likely be a staple at summer festivals.
