Radiohead releases the last in their series of video vignettes inspired by ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’

Radiohead’s vehement authenticity is one of the most consistent facets of their career. Their constant uniqueness explains why the band methodically erased their online presence and mailed their fans mysterious pamphlets in the time period leading up to the release of their most recent album A Moon Shaped Pool. Following their most recent LP’s release, Radiohead has continued their innovations outside of the studio by collaborating with numerous filmmakers to producer video vignettes inspired by their work.

The band’s latest video is set to the track “The Numbers” and directed by Grant Gee. Gee, who also directed the band’s acclaimed 1998 documentary Meeting People Is Easy, filmed the band’s most recent short film in Welsh town Port Talbot – home to the notable Port Talbot Steelworks. This vignette follows the gloomy, ominous vibe of its predecessors (excepting the last, more absurdist feature, also inspired by “The Numbers”) by placing central focus on the industrial setting, and its shadow-engulfed inhabitants. Radiohead purport that their most recent film will be the last in this series of vignettes.

And the last in the current series of vignettes is The Numbers, directed by Grant Gee and filmed in Port Talbot.
