Space and Privilege Ibiza under investigation following Amnesia crackdown
Not long after unearthing €2 million hidden inside Amnesia Ibiza’s walls, fellow nightclubs Space and Privilege are now being investigated for money laundering and tax evasion.
The crackdown, entitled ‘Operation Chopin,’ began at 6am on July 8 as part of a national investigation of fraud among Spain’s nightlife industry. A total of 87 businesses are being scrutinized, four of which reside in Ibiza.
As local officials continue to examine Amnesia, the four individuals initially arrested – owner Martin Ferrer, artistic director Marti Ferrer, general manager David de Felipe and accountant Vincente Pérez de Montis – have been released contingent upon their periodic appearance before a judge. The four men must also forfeit their passports.
