Anyone who stopped by the Warp booth at 2016’s Summer NAMM Show this year was treated to something truly special — an advance listen of Aphex Twin‘s forthcoming Cheetah EP.  The producer, born Richard D. James, has been teasing slices of the release all summer with premieres on BBC Radio 1, Zane Lowe’s World Record, and with a music video directed by a 12 year old Irish boy.

It turns out, Aphex Twin’s latest effort borrows its name from the “horrible” and “annoyingly complicated” Cheetah MS800 synth which James undoubtedly made short work of programming. Even the visual graphics are taken from the company’s promo materials, as Hannah from Warp details.

Thankfully, for those unable to make the trek to NAMM, Tom Robinson at BBC Radio 6 dedicated his entire show to the prolific producer’s originals under various aliases and those he’s influenced through his career arc. The show also contains a full stream of the EP, with Robinson’s expert narration.

Stream the new EP on the show’s page here, starting at around the 58:00 minute mark
