Carl Cox says Space Ibiza will reopen elsewhere, ‘but not for at least two years’

According to Carl Cox, Space Ibiza’s demise may only be temporary.

“Plans are on the table for it opening at another site but it won’t happen for at least two years and will it be the same? We don’t know. I don’t know whether I will be involved because there are so many variables,” Cox disclosed in a Q&A with Ticketmaster.

While Cox expresses disappointment about no longer regularly performing at Space, he looks forward to “getting three days a week of my life back.” Having reached a point in his career where he can can finally take a step back from the stage, the British producer jokes that his newfound downtime might even pave the way for a significant other: “I feel like I am ready to kick back a little bit and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Perhaps I might be able to have a girlfriend at long last…I’ve never been in this position before.”

It’s unclear where and when Space Ibiza will finally re-open, but stay tuned to Dancing Astronaut for further details as they’re made available.
