The Chainsmokers and Halsey to perform ‘Closer’ at the VMA’s

The Chainsmokers are on fire. The duo are nominated for an MTV Video Music Award for “Don’t Let Me Down,” they recently grabbed their first Billboard Hot 100 number one with the Halsey-assisted “Closer,” and now the pair are linking up with their chart-topping counterpart to perform the single live at the VMAs on August 28 at 9pm EST. Halsey and The Chainsmokers have proven to be quite the match, gracing crowds with live renditions of their hit collaboration everywhere from Bonnaroo to a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

Now, hot off the heels of being the most streamed song in the country last week, the trio will perform “Closer” in front of their biggest crowd yet during the VMA’s telecast. Performances from Brittney Spears and G-Eazy, Rihanna, and Ty Dolla $ign are on the docket for the evening as well.
