Sweden’s Galavant debuted on Sony Music earlier in 2016, spotlighting where the duo’s signature melodic stamp had found depth and maturity beyond the club floor. Following up on “Lightweight” just in time to see out the summer, Galavant’s latest is a nod to the focussed beats and fluid hook work that has kept electronic dance music in relatively consistent chart play since the back-end of 2015.

Calling on the sophisticated vocal stylings of Clara Mae, “Parachute” flows like a pop hit with a supple urban backbone, keeping enough melodic composure to sound in unison with the duo’s recent swell of vocal offerings. There’s no shortage of fresh talent emerging from Sweden at the present, but Galavant are slowly but surely proving a force to keep tabs on.
