Funk legend George Clinton joins Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label
While he is pursuing a new career as a film director, Flying Lotus isn’t neglecting his role as the head of his Brainfeeder label. The idiosyncratic producer recently took to Twitter to announce that funk legend George Clinton would be joining the likes of Mr. Oizo, Thundercat, and Tokimonsta on his roster of artists.
Clinton’s career skyrocketed in the 1970’s when he lead the seminal funk bands Parliament and Funkadelic, pioneering the P-Funk sound and demonstrating a keen eye for talent. After launching a solo career in 1981, Clinton has been consistently productive, with his last album dropping in 2008. Clinton is expected to drop an album on the imprint next year, and while few details were given in regards to the release, fans can be assured of its funk bona fides.
