Listen to a rumored preview of The Weeknd and Cashmere Cat’s new single
A couple weeks back, Cashmere Cat and The Weeknd shared images of a joint studio session, foreshadowing an official collaboration in the works. Now it looks as though we have received a teaser of the impending work. Earlier today, Cashmere Cat took to Twitter to officially announced his new album Wild Love, along with the news that the first single would be dropping on Friday, August 26.
Coincidentally, The Weeknd also took to social media today, uploading an audio teaser with a blank background and a caption bearing nothing more than a cat emoji. Based on the circumstances, it would appear highly likely that this is in fact a teaser of the forthcoming collaboration. The speculation is reinforced by the track itself, which features Cashmere Cat’s iconic, R&B-infused future bass style.
If the speculation is true, Cashmere Cat and The Weeknd’s collaboration is titled “Wild Love” and is set to drop this Friday. Check out Cashmere Cat’s LP announcement below, along with the official album artwork.
UPDATE:
It appears Cashmere Cat confirmed his collaboration with The Weeknd is indeed “Wild Love.” In an Instagram post, the producer shared another image of himself working in the studio with the vocalist with the caption “wild love.”
