Maceo Plex reflects on his ‘Mosaic’ of 10 sets in Ibiza
On July 26, Maceo Plex set out on his quest to create a “mosaic” of sound across Ibiza, strategically selecting ten locations throughout the island and recording sets at each over the span of 24 hours. The endeavor was a personal and promotional project for the famed DJ, who was able to showcase the ethos of his Mosaic series and brand at Pacha, in addition to share his connection of each destination by capturing their different energies in each unique set.
Documentation of the journey has surfaced, with snapshots of each location making it into the five-minute video. Eric Estornel’s journey began on the Pacha 67 sailboat, eventually ending at 11am on the 27th at the Elephant Bar. Watch as he provides insightful commentary throughout, such as the emotion he felt while playing at Es Vedra and how undertaking this project was the “best way to connect to the people of the island, and to explore the music.”
