Mr. Oizo announces new Skrillex collaboration, ‘End of the World’
Ed Banger‘s resident experimenter, Mr. Oizo, recently announced the release of his upcoming LP, All Wet, due September 30. The new record promises contributions from Boys Noize, Crookers, Peaches, and others, as well as Skrillex, who is featured on the album’s lead single. In 2014, Oizo took on Dog Blood’s “Chella Ride,” and now we find the OWSLA boss linking up with the French master for an official meeting of the minds on new collaboration “End Of The World.” The single is set to officially premiere tomorrow on BBC Radio 1.
Early previews of the new track are few and far between, though so far, the groundwork sounds like a garage-inspired, warehouse-ready piece. At first glance, Skrillex and Mr. Oizo may appear to be holding down vastly different ends of the electronic music spectrum. But considering Skrillex’s quixotic, forward-thinking production method and Mr. Oizo’s distinct knack for experimentation, “End Of The World” will likely be a complementary (albeit chaotic) blend of both producers’ unmistakable styles.
Last month, Mr. Oizo shared a short clip of him performing the track. Watch it below:
