Mysteryland to host groundbreaking virtual reality live stream
ID&T’s flagship festival Mysteryland holds the iconic title in the Netherlands as the country’s oldest dance festival. The annual event, which has now expanded internationally, is now making history again, as it will become the first festival to introduce a virtual reality live stream.
Virtual reality is not new by any means, but has been evolving heavily over the past few years. Behemoth companies such as Google and Apple are beginning to integrate it into their new generations of apps and products, while news channels and other media companies are using it to provide more in-depth reporting and innovative advertisements. Following the progression, Mysteryland has decided to embrace the emerging technology and test its potential on festival grounds.
The stream will begin when Mysteryland opens on August 27 at 12pm CET, continuing until 11pm. On Sunday, August 28, streaming takes place from 2-11pm. Anyone with a pair of virtual reality glasses and access to the festival’s YouTube channel or a virtual reality app will be able to participate. 360° degree streaming will also occur both days, further displaying the brand’s move into the future.
