Porter Robinson and Madeon drop new single and announce joint live tour
Electronic music fans have long dreamt of an official collaboration between Porter Robinson and Madeon, and now it’s happening, and on a much larger scale than anyone could have expected. The two artists have announced a joint North American tour that will feature a collaborative live show with music from both artists’ catalogue reworked specifically for the show.
On top of the news, the pair have released their first single together, “Shelter.” The song, which features Madeon on vocals, is the kind of alluring, otherworldly pop anthem you’d expect from their respective talents, and a satisfying taste of what’s to come on their joint tour.
Madeon said of the collaboration:
“Both Porter and I started working with people in-person when we started making our respective albums and appreciated how much more collaborative you can get. Our intent was to make music that would reflect our friendship.”
Porter further added:
“I see enthusiasm and inspiration as the most important currency you can have when you’re making music. It’s this weird sensation of being drunk on your own confidence and excitement that leads to so many creative breakthroughs. That effect was really exaggerated when we were working together.”
