Space Ibiza may relocate to San Antonio
The uncertainty surrounding Space Ibiza due to the legendary club’s location changing ownership may be coming to an end. Despite the island’s moratorium on building hotel-nightclub combinations, Ibiza officials received plans to renovate the Reco des Sol Hotel in San Antonio from Space’s current owners before the ban was put into effect.
The head of San Antonio’s planning department Juanjo Ferrer confirmed that Space’s owner Pepe Rosello intends to renovate Reco des Sol into a Space-branded property. The original location’s new owners, the Ushuaïa Group, will maintain the current building under a new name.
There is no timetable for the new Space to open to the public, though the legend Carl Cox recently predicted it would take at least two years before re-launching.
