‘Stranger Things’ season 2 announced with official teaser trailer

The Netflix original series Stranger Things is slated for a second season, as confirmed by the network and its creators, the Duffer Brothers. With nine new episodes dropping in 2017, it’s unclear if Stranger Things will pick up where it left off, though the trailer does reveal each of the episode’s titles.

The Duffer brothers note that director James Cameron had a heavy influence on the second season, and confirm that a core cast of Mike, Joyce, and Dustin will return. The second season, which is set in the fall of 1984, will introduce four new characters and visit places outside of Hawkins, IN, with a return to the Upside Down. The series’ soundtrack for its first season garnered significant acclaim from electronic musicians, most notably inspiring deadmau5 to remix its theme song in an unofficial capacity. How the series will build upon this facet after the success of their first season run remains to be seen, but it would be unsurprising to see notable composers lend their tastes to the score.
