TastyTreat and Marco Foster team up to cover Citizen Cope’s ‘Sideways’
TastyTreat have teamed up with vocalist Marco Foster to continue their mastery of future bass, this time with a cover of Citizen Cope’s “Sideways.” Tuned to the key of late summer, the duo skillfully integrate acoustic guitar with the samples and rhythmic elements of their production, providing a smooth, laid-back vibe throughout the song.
TastyTreat and Foster’s cover achieves the difficult balance between being too similar to the original and too far from it. The tastefully staccato style of TastyTreat’s production – which manages to pull off a nice flute riff without sounding too tropical – complements Foster’s crystalline vocals well.
