Two attendees at Life in Color Turkey die from drug and alcohol abuse
Two young Life in Color Turkey attendees – 19-year-old Tugay Ergin and Gökhan Alataş – have reportedly passed away due to drug and alcohol abuse. Another attendee remains in critical condition.
Three additional festival-goers were also hospitalized following the event, which took place on August 6 in Istanbul. Police have arrested three suspects who are though to have supplied the victims with the lethal substances, while two other suspects were released pending trial.
Life In Color, the global electronic music franchise which has grown from a one-day event to an expansive festival, has yet to comment. The deaths add to a recent string of drug-related tragedies, including the loss of three attendees at HARD Summer.
