Watch Avicii perform his final show
It’s official: Avicii has retired from touring. The 26-year-old Swedish performed his final show last night, August 28, at Ushuaia Ibiza. The sold-out performance culminated Avicii’s summer long residency at the outdoor Ibiza mega-club, where he’s been a staple for the last five years.
Avicii announced his retirement from touring back in March with a heartfelt letter to fans: “I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist,” he wrote. He did, however, vow to continue writing music: “I will however never let go of music – I will continue to speak to my fans through it.”
For his final show, Avicii enlisted the help of KSHMR, Seeb, Albin Myers, and the Mambo Brothers. Videos of the performance are flooding the web, a few if which we’ve shared below.
While his current touring life is on hold for the foreseeable future, Avicii hasn’t ruled out the possibility of returning at a later date: “One part of me can never say never, I could be back …but I won’t be right back.”
