The DA Hot 25: September 16, 2016

The DA Hot 25 is the definitive playlist series running through dance music culture and hand-delivering you with the essential tracks of the week. Whether it’s the hottest or quickest trending tracks, brand new music from your favorite artists, or songs from the unknown that should be landing on your radar, Dancing Astronaut brings you 25 carefully selected records that reflect what’s happening in our world.

Check out this week’s playlist featuring ground-breaking collaborations between Tom Morello & Knife Party, DJ Hanzel & Drezo, Zeds Dead & NGHTMRE; boundary-pushing heat from Die Antwood, Calvin Harris, TWRK; and feel-good crossover treats from Dillon Francis, Goldroom, and Vanic. Additionally, we’ve provided our picks from within The DA Hot 25, highlighting two standout tracks.

The Heat of the Week: Justice – Randy

Justice’s new single “Randy” is a charming summer jam, relentlessly infectious thanks to the vocal contributions of Morgan Phalen, who previously sang on two tracks from Justice’s Audio, Video, Disco. Like previous single “Safe and Sound,” the song features live orchestra accompaniment. The result is an instant indie dance classic — a record we’ll have on repeat for months to come.

The Breakout Select: Dillon Franics & NGHTMRE – Need You (DJ Hanzel & Drezo Remix)

What started as a Snapchat joke has now turned into an actual side project. DJ Hanzel finally releases his debut offering that goes ‘vun deeper’ with deep house savant Drezo by his side for a throbbing remix of Dillon Francis & NGHTMRE’s “Need You.” Oh, DJ Hanzel and Drezo also released their original “Anxiety” on vinyl that sold for $11,400.

Tune in each Friday, exclusively on Spotify, where The DA Hot 25 debuts weekly on our curator page.
