Are Daft Punk playing Lollapalooza? New evidence sparks 2017 tour rumors
One Reddit user made an interesting discovery a few days ago: Lollapalooza’s website has a page built out specifically for Daft Punk. The last time the mysterious French duo played at the festival was back in 2007 with the legendary pyramid stage. Initially, one would naturally assume that this Daft Punk tag was left over from that year.
In the Reddit thread, however, another savvy user analyzed the site’s archive, discovering that the page dates back only to February 2016, a little more than six months ago. Whether this actually signifies that Daft Punk will be on the lineup next year or is simply a result of the data being there from 2007 is not certain by any means.
However, many fans believe that they are due for another world tour, and there have been other whispers. First off, the original Alive tour began in 1997, which they revived in 2007. It would make sense if they continued the ten-year revival with a 2017 version. Secondly, they recently released a new track with The Weeknd, who is also rumored to be playing next year. Finally, both Daft Punk and The Weeknd are included in the “leaked” Lollapalooza Chile lineup.
