While most of the EDM world spent their weekend at festivals across the US, deadmau5 was busy in the studio working towards the completion of what hopes to be his next studio album.

Fans were treated to Joel behind the boards as he worked on an updated version of “Cat Thruster,” an electro demo he first began teasing back in May. The resulting output and its 6:20 runtime is deadmau5 at his most playful, keeping things light and interesting with a 16-bit backbone of chirpy, progressive electronica.

The song follows another tantalizing unreleased track taken from his recent live stream: a blissful 8-minute progressive house piece. One can only hope that both new tracks will appear on the Canadian’s impending 8th studio album.
