deadmau5’s long-awaited ‘Strobe’ remix EP is finally here

After months of stoking ravenous anticipation among his fan base, deadmau5 has released the official remix EP for his magnum opus, “Strobe” —  a fitting celebration for the momentous hundredth release on his mau5trap imprint. By now, most of deadmau5’s dedicated fanbase has heard the bulk of the EP. Clips of Feed Me’s techno-inspired remix have been making the rounds for the last month, prior to it’s Billboard premiere yesterday, September 22. Dimension’s D&B spin and Lane 8’s laid-back offering, too, have been widely circulating in some form in the weeks leading up to the EP’s release. Earlier this week, Com Truise sent listeners into a state of awe when Mixmag premiered his paradigm-shifting reimagining of “Strobe,” which pushed the track almost entirely past the point of recognition.

The final cut of mau50100, however, is heretofore unheard. To round out the release, deadmau5 has granted a spot to one of his most notable protégés, ATTLAS, who offers a striking new perspective of the original, touching upon airs of trance and synthwave across its eight-minute sonic expanse. Notably absent, unfortunately, are deadmau5’s own “Strobe” remixes, which many fans had expected to populate with the EP’s release. To assuage fans’ worries, mau5trap tweeted that there is “a part two [to the collection] coming from you know who.”
