“Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” the saying goes — and Daft Punk are certainly no strangers to such flattery in both their musical style and iconic aesthetic. Love Props, a two-person 3D designing team, have made their mark as the latest to honor the robotic duo, proffering one of the most dedicated homages to date in the form of a fully functional replica of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s helmet.

Love Props’ meticulously detailed project, dubbed the “GM01,” reportedly took over a year of daily work to achieve. Deemed more “than just a tribute of the Daft Punks [sic] Guy Man,” the GM01 includes such features as PGB electronics, WIFI, MIDI, motion/audio interaction, and 250 RGB LEDs. Where the GM01 may appear in the future remains to be seen, but the staggering attention to detail and functionalities of the helmet will certainly put Love Props on the map.
