Flume ft. Vic Mensa – Lose It (Naderi Remix)
The sound that Flume achieved on Skin is so complex, layered, and unpredictable that it’s relatively unsurprising that it’s attracted fewer noteworthy remixes than might be expected for one of the biggest albums of the year. But a few stalwart bootleggers have refused to allow themselves to be intimidated by the technically daunting release, among them Flume’s friend and fellow Sydney native Naderi. The Aussie producer, who’s turned out official remixes for Skrillex, Zhu, and Griz, among others, tries his hand at remixing “Lose It,” one of Skin’s standout tracks, with impressive results.
Naderi filters out the shimmering chords and textures of the original, opting instead to fill his rework with rumbling bass and a thunderous trap beat, holding his own against Vic Mensa’s blistering verse work and solidifying himself as one of the few to successfully leave their mark on a cut from Flume’s sophomore release.
