Lido shares ‘Murder’ off forthcoming debut album
Following a string of EP and single releases, Lido is finally set to make his full-length album debut with Everything, out on October 7. Last month’s announcement came equipped with a short trailer that hinted the project would be a more emotional offering. “Crazy,” released earlier this year, served as an early introduction to Everything, with his newest single “Murder” revealing more sentimental insight.
Commencing with a chopped chiptune vocal sample, “Murder” escalates with the addition of thumping bass and scintillating chords. The future bass breakdown leads into a catchy medley of tongue-tied lyrics atop robust beats, just before abruptly shifting to a gorgeous cinematic instrumental closing from “an 80-piece orchestra.”
If “Murder,” which chronicles a breakup, serves as any indication of what’s to come of Everything, fans can expect a classic Lido sound with poignant finish. Accompanying the album is The Everything Tour, officially kicking off in San Francisco on November 2, which follows his performance at CRSSD Festival in San Diego on October 1.
